So, i've got this thing for octopi... heh.
And for mermaids too, now that I think about it. It just seemed natural.

I don't usually do backgrounds, so for this one, I STARTED there and then worked forward. :D

So so so very proud of this one.
Took about 5 hours.

its a very beautiful piece. i have lots of trouble with bg too XD i never thought of actually starting with the bg though, i think it was very successful. definite fave from me :aww:

this is soo amazing!!!!!!!! i lov how each stroke is soo expressive and free but defines the peice as well. definatly faving, its very awsome to see u do this. verying inspirational

This piece is awesome! +fav and then some!

The background is amazing. I'm so bad with backgrounds, and this one just puts all of mine to shame. Kudos to you!

And I hope you do more of this character, because she's really cute and needs a name and a story :)

the light seems to come perfectly into the water...

but from afar I see no mermaid there.. I just realized her in full view..
